|Hello! After a few months away from E3 Omagh & Castlederg I am excited to be back to work. However, things aren’t quite back to normal! I am currently working 3 days a week and with current guidelines, I am not popping in and out of schools everyday. However, thanks to technology, I am able to connect with schools in new ways. I can’t help but think about the words of Isaiah 43v19 and as much as I miss the|
|way things were pre Covid19, I can celebrate that there are still lots of opportunities to share God’s Good News with children and young people in schools. It can be daunting facing “newness” and for me, talking to a camera instead of a room full of smiling faces is certainly new, but having the confidence that God is working through the videos I create makes every outtake, edit & upload worth it! If you would like to see an example of one of these videos, have a watch of the video below.|

On the 31 August this was my first day back at work after a time of furlough. I have returned on a part time basis and will be working 3 days each week, until the end of the furlough scheme in October when we return to our full-time hours. Please continue to pray for the SUNI Schools’ Team over the next weeks and months as we continue to seek to engage, equip & empower. Please also pray for our local schools as they navigate through a lot of new routines and challenges over the next few weeks. Please get in touch with any questions or prayer requests.
9 September 2020: Today I caught up with a few local church workers in Omagh! It was lovely to be back in the district & to see some friendly faces!
Trust you are well! This year has most certainly taken an unexpected turn – and no doubt there are challenges still to come for us all. However, despite this, we at Scripture Union NI have a continued heart and desire to make God’s Good News known! Since March, staff have been working hard creating online resources and seeking to support those they usually work alongside in schools and churches within their E3 areas. The interest and feedback has been incredibly encouraging and has been opening up new opportunities, even within the challenges of lockdown!
However, in being realistic about the longer term implications for each of our E3 areas, the E3 staff themselves and the work they are involved in, the decision has been made to furlough all our E3 Workers (along with other SU staff) for the months of June and July. We will continue to review things in the months ahead and consider what the new academic year will look like for our ministry within the changing face of education particularly. We will keep all our regular supporters and friends up to date as best we can – check out our website and social media pages too.
Whilst life before lockdown is already becoming more distant in our memories, it is important to take note of ALL that God has done through the E3 Schools’ Project in the last academic year! We hope that you enjoy reading stories of encouragement and hope in this Annual Report, and that you will continue to stand with us prayerfully, practically and financially in the academic year ahead.
Thank you for your support! E3 simply could not happen without the many churches, individuals, businesses and others who partner with us so generously – not just financially, but in so many other ways as well. Perhaps now, more than ever, we value your continued support and partnership in this ministry, as together we trust the unchanging and sovereign God through the many changes our world is facing.
‘Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm.
Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord,
because you know that your labour in the Lord is not in vain.’ 1st Cor. 15:58

I never though I would be sending out my termly news in the middle of a pandemic! But alas, the “normal” day to day of an SUNI schools’ worker has changed massively over the past few weeks, and it will continue to do so as we journey through this period of unknown. As Christians, we believe the words of Romans 8:28, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” We believe that God works for good and though this time of uncertainty he is still moving in the lives of his people. Recently, I have been listening to this beautiful song by Laura Story on repeat. Click on the video below to listen to it. Here are some of the lyrics:
“Cause what if your blessings come through raindrops
What if Your healing comes through tears
What if a thousand sleepless nights are what it takes to know You’re near
What if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise”
Let us encourage and pray for one another through this time. We are living through a strange season where our world is hurting, yet we have a Heavenly Father who is bigger than this pandemic. Pray that during this time we would be able to share the comfort and joy our Heavenly Father brings us daily.
